Sunday 31/12/2013

We've had a busy first term back getting to know our new members and integrate them with our existing ones with some team and drama games plus ice breakers.  The show was then announced and, even though it is not seemingly well known amongst the members, we have no doubt that the parents will remember it!

So far we've spent a few serious weeks on casting and the rest of this term familiarising ourselves with the story and going through each scene with scripts and discussing what might be happening at each point in the story.  The children are starting to realise that this is a very funny storyline with some great hilarity along the way.

This Sunday 5th January is our Costume Workshop.  During this day each of the cast members has a time slot in order that they may come along to the Village Hall and hopefully be given some costume items from our existing bank of costumes.  All adult helpers would be greatly received at any point.

We look forward to commencing MYT on Wednesday 8th Jan and really getting to know each scene by blocking the action and writing stage notes, learning lines etc.  Our pianist, Lindsey, has been practising the musical score over Christmas and together with her uncle, a concert pianist, have been recording some of the pieces in order that the dance choreography by Aimee and Holly can start to be planned and the cast can begin to learn the songs and hopefully listen to them at home.  Its all very exciting!

Also there is a MYT disco on Friday 17th January from 7 pm 'till 9.30 pm for the members and any friends they wish to bring.

Happy New Year everyone!
